We do not use customer operational data or client data processed through the AVA platform for AVA's own analytics, market research, or business development purposes. Such data is processed solely on the instructions of the contracting client.

AI Processing

The AVA platform incorporates a self-hosted artificial intelligence model that processes operational and telemetry data to deliver analytics and insights as part of the contracted service. This model operates entirely within AVA's own infrastructure. Customer data is not transmitted to external AI providers for this purpose.

Security of Your Personal Information

AVA implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, loss, or modification. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, regular vulnerability assessments, and audit logging.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a personal information breach that poses a risk to data subjects, AVA will notify the Information Regulator and affected data subjects as soon as reasonably possible, in accordance with POPIA section 22.

You are responsible for selecting any password and its overall security strength, ensuring the security of your own information within the bounds of our services.

How Long We Keep Your Personal Information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need to. This time period may depend on what we are using your information for, in accordance with this privacy policy. If your personal information is no longer required, we will delete it or make it anonymous by removing all details that identify you.

However, if necessary, we may retain your personal information for our compliance with a legal, accounting, or reporting obligation or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific, or historical research purposes or statistical purposes.

Children’s Privacy

We do not aim any of our products or services directly at children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 18.

Under POPIA, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

You retain the right to withhold personal information from us, with the understanding that your experience of our website may be affected. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights.

If you believe that any information we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, or misleading, please contact us using the details below and we will take reasonable steps to correct it.

If you believe that we have breached POPIA or any applicable data protection law, please contact us with full details. We will promptly investigate and respond in writing. You also have the right to contact the Information Regulator directly at https://www.justice.gov.za/inforeg/.
