We were founded with a heart for the production miner. Enterprise mining software costs millions and takes years to deploy, which means most of the world’s mines have been left behind, running on radios, spreadsheets, and gut feel. AVA exists to change that. Across 26 countries and more than 135 sites, we have tracked over 43 million haul cycles and helped operations of every size understand and reduce their cost per tonne.

We are headquartered in Ireland with our commercial hub in Sandton, where this role is based.

The role

We’re looking for a high‑energy Marketing specialist to help us get things done. This role is ideal for a junior to mid‑level marketer who’s early in their career, hands‑on, organised, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves. You’ll help coordinate and execute our marketing efforts, support events and overseas travel, assist with marketing logistics, and keep momentum across campaigns.

This role values drive, initiative, and attitude just as much as experience.  If you’re the kind of person who’s happy setting up expo stands, buying TVs last‑minute, flying to support events, coordinating suppliers, and helping turn ideas into action, you’ll fit right in!

The CEO and Business Development team are the commercial engine of AVA. This role sits at the centre of both. You will be the person who keeps the CEO’s day moving, makes sure prospects get followed up, and ensures the Sandton office runs properly. It is a role for someone who wants to be close to where the decisions happen.

It is a new role, created because the commercial team has grown and the workload now demands it. You will shape how it evolves!

What you’ll do

‍

• Coordinate and support day‑to‑day marketing and advertising activities  

• Assist with local and international events (including travel, stand setup, materials, and logistics)  

• Work with suppliers, printers, designers, and venues  

• Support campaign execution across digital, social, and offline channels  

• Help manage marketing assets, branding material, and event equipment  

• Jump in wherever needed — sometimes that means admin, sometimes creativity, sometimes problem‑solving on the fly  

• Support the broader commercial and business development teams when required

• Manage a complex calendar across time zones.  

• Coordinate local and international travel.  

• Prepare board-level documents, presentations, and pitch decks.  

• Handle expenses and time administration.  

• Keep the CEO’s working week moving cleanly.

What we are looking for

Essential

• 3–5 years’ experience in marketing, advertising, or a related role  

• Strong coordination and organisational skills  

• Comfortable with fast‑paced, practical, hands‑on work  

• Willingness to travel (including overseas) - Must have a valid Passport!

• A self-motivated individual with energy, curiosity, and common sense  

• Happy to learn, adapt, and grow with the business  

Nice to have

• Marketing qualification or relevant experience preferred (not mandatory)

• Prior exposure to sales or business development support

• Experience using a CRM
