Field Services Manager - Northern Cape

The Field Service Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of technical field services across AVA. This position combines logistics, administration, and technical oversight to support both in-house and third-party technicians. You will lead a small team of auto-electricians, making strong leadership skills essential. The role demands technical expertise, exceptional organizational ability, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities, including scheduling, resource allocation, compliance, and client communication. Because our team is small, you will fulfil a core role with a significant impact on our product. The ideal candidate should be self-driven, an excellent communicator, and a true team player who can collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Your Role

  • Skilled in managing complex schedules, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating multiple teams and resources
  • Strong knowledge of field service operations, technical installations, and equipment handling.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technicians, clients, and management acting as the primary contact for clients on timelines, asset availability, and updates
  • Ensure efficient technician coverage to minimize downtime.
  • Track jobs in real-time and ensure timely completion of service tasks.
  • Onboard and train new and partner technicians to AVA engineering standards.
  • Ensure delivery and availability of parts, tools, and documentation before deployment.
  • Conduct bi-monthly installation audits and review service delivery against SLAs and client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate service records and generate performance and compliance reports.
  • Assist with new deployments, urgent on-site support, and collaborate on new product development.
  • Strong knowledge of field service operations, technical installations, and equipment handling

What we're looking for

  • Proven ability to manage client expectations and resolve issues professionally.
  • Sound judgment in balancing cost, risk, and operational impact.
  • High accuracy in documentation, auditing, and compliance tracking.
  • Electrician/Electrical Engineer/Mechanical Engineer.  
  • 5+ years of experience in a field service coordination
  • 5+ years in a technical operations role.
  • Red Seal certification advantageous
  • Familiarity with service management software and scheduling tools  
  • Experience working with third-party contractors and managing service-level agreements.
  • Medically fit to enter mine sites.
  • Teachable, and able to work both in-office and on-site as needed.
